Classes and training sessions
Classes are currently being held regularly in Glasgow and East Kilbride..
My classes stress the importance of positive training methods, understanding your dog and building a positive relationship. The training is geared to you and your dog as an individual team and as such classes are kept small (max of 6 dogs).
Puppy socialisation
You'll get plenty of individual help and support in this class as I only ever have a max of 6 dogs in each session - this allows you to get the most out of your training at this vital time in your pups development. You will have the opportunity to learn to clicker train and the emphasis will be on play and positive reinforcement as well as developing an understanding of your puppy.
Canine Connextion
Build a relationship and develop your dogs training. This is designed to move on young dogs and rescue dogs whilst developing life skills and the foundations for dog sports.
Heelwork to Music and Canine Freestyle - Dog Dancing!
Whether dancing with your dog is for you or not - this class will promote a bond with your dog which will be of value in whatever you intend to do.Learn to clicker train, shape and chain behaviours, utilise free time, promote body awareness in your dog and of course develop your choreography skills.
Trick 'n' Click Class
Teaching your dogs tricks is a great way to bond and gain attention. and is a super way to improve or learn clicker training! This class is also great for building a toolbox of moves for HTM or Freestyle.
Behavioural Consultations
I am a qualified behaviourist with experience of working with a variety of different animals. I am available for behavioural consultations on a vet referred basis or by direct contact from dog owners.
One to One / Small Group Training
I have limited time slots for these sessions - please contact me for further details
Day or weekend workshops both in the UK and abroad
By arrangement
I have introduced the following new Canine Activities to Scotland
Urban Herding (Trieball)
The ideal way to give your dog a job - herding minus livestock!
Join this class just for the intrinsic fun of urban herding or alternately develop skills which you will find useful in other dog training disciplines.
Next Workshop in Autumn 2016
Barrel Racing
This ranks as one of the most motivating activities I have ever done with my dogs. It's is immense fun and the dogs absolutely love it. I will be posting video clips really soon!

Training with Heather - Have your say!

Susan Westlake"" My 2 year old Beagle boy had been resource guarding from 7 weeks old. I consulted trainers but it didn't help much and in fact he progressed to growling and snapping to get his own way. Heather showed us how to make a few tiny changes in the way we handled him and overnight he was cured - and as an added bonus seemed much happier. She's now helping me with my Beagle girl who is a bit reactive towards other dogs and already she's had her first little play session with another strong willed female dog without any agro. I can't recommend her highly enough! Her HTM classes are great fun too - the dogs LOVE it! VERY reasonable prices too - especially for home visits
Anne Stewart Having had one to one training with Heather as well as attending several group sessions I can vouch for her positive attitude to dogs and people. She's very patient with handlers especially and is very quick to adapt to the needs of the individual dogs.
Most of all her training is fun for both dog and handler my dogs go mad when they see her as they anticipate fun.
Elizabeth and Floss - my Collie Cross WAS reactive to traffic and joggers. I had stopped walking her and had been taught to make Floss avoid the problems and she had got worse. I had two sessions with Heather actually dealing with the problems and I felt more confident almost straight away as I was given easy to follow instructions. I then attended a recallers class in several places. Floss now is offlead enjoying her life and no longer chases people or traffic.
Chloe and Max - Max was afraid of other dogs having been picked on in a large class we attended. He's now more confident with other dogs and has been on indoor and outdoor classes with Heather. He used to be afraid of puppies but we have now got him a new brother and he is like a different dog. Thanks Heather
Susan and Shadow - Heather came to our house to help Shadow get used to our new baby. He had been growling and we were worried what he would do. It's a year on now and all is well - thanks Heather
